From April 28 - 30, NAAPIMHA attended the National Network to Eliminate Disparities in Behavioral Health's (NNED) fifteenth annual training for community-based organizations (CBOs), NNEDLearn 2025. The National Network to Eliminate Disparities in Behavioral Health (NNED) is a network of CBOs across the U.S. focused on the mental health and substance use issues of underserved communities. The NNED supports information sharing, training, and technical assistance.
Given the critical health challenges the American public is facing, including behavioral health conditions such as mental health disorders, addiction, and depression, NNEDLearn provides organizational capacity training to CBOs to improve behavioral health services to communities.
The training is sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and focused on three core skill areas:
Leveraging technology, including artificial intelligence (AI)- powered tools, to increase efficiency and effectiveness in behavioral health service delivery.
Strengthening financial infrastructure to enhance and sustain behavioral health services.
Effectively communicating behavioral health needs and organizational impact to decision-makers through data storytelling.
NAAPIMHA is no stranger to the NNED or NNEDLearn, having served as master trainers for Achieving Whole Health: Balancing Body, Mind, and Spirit during the conference over the past decade. This year, NAAPIMHA joins over thirty CBOs across the country in a series of learning collaborative sessions dedicated to leveraging technology, innovative financial strategies, and data storytelling to improve NAAPIMHA’s mission of promoting and redefining mental health in AANHPI communities. We are eager to continue to learn from and with this network of community leaders, and to apply our learnings to ensuring that NAAPIMHA can continue to provide life saving support and advocacy for our community, no matter what.
