Culturally rooted mental health resources are at risk. Help us expand access!
May is Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. You can help ensure communities have access to mental health resources rooted in culture, language, and lived experience.
At NAAPIMHA, we create community spaces where AANHPI individuals do not have to translate their experiences to be understood.
Youth Program Participant
“Friends DO Make a Difference gave me a place to grieve, be seen, and feel safe for the first time. Through this community, I found healing not just in people, but in my culture. It helped me find my place and reminded me I don’t have to go through life alone.”
Mental Health First Aid
Trainee
“Being in a fully Asian space was rare, necessary, and empowering.”
Community Partner
"National AANHPI Mental Health day is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. It’s a time for us to pause, reflect, and recommit to breaking the stigma around mental health in our communities and to advocate for healing that is rooted in culture and care."
This is what culturally rooted mental health support makes possible
In the past year, NAAPIMHA has:
• Convened 230+ members of NAAPIEN, our Empowerment Network for people with lived experience
• Trained 250+ community members in Mental Health First Aid and Achieving Whole Health wellness coaches.
• Engaged 110+ community partner organizations nationwide in mental health advocacy and education
This work is critically needed—and deeply underfunded.
This May, you can help expand access to mental health resources that reflect who we are.
Your support will help train community leaders, reach more young people, and build a future where healing is rooted in culture—not silence.
